Kitara FC returned to winning ways with a narrow win 1-0 over Police FC during their clash on Thursday at Kavumba Recreation center.
Jude Ssemugabi netted the all important goal as the Wasswa Bbosa coached side got their revenge over the Cops. This was Ssemugabi’s ninth goal of the season.
Police shocked Kitara FC in Butema during their first round meeting last year.
Kitara could have scored more with Fred Anaku and David Ndihabwe both squandering decent chances.
Police also had their moment when Ryan Kizito forced Kitara custodian into a decent save.
Ssemugabi netted the only goal of the game nine minutes after the recess when he headed home Solomon Okwalinga free kick.
Dennis Kalanzi nearly levelled matters moments later for the hosts but his effort went wide.
In the closing stages, Gerald Ogweti had his strike cleared off the goal-line by Kitara defender Arthur Kiggundu.
Kitara held on to maximum points and are now fourth placed in the log with 32 points while Police are 12th with 23 points. Police FC will next visit Bright Stars while Kitara FC are to host KCCA FC.
