CAF and FIFA Certified Security officer Dixon Bond Okello believes the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) should first prioritize Ex-International players and retired coaches while giving out free tickets.
Before the Uganda Cranes World Cup Qualifier match against Guinea, FUFA gave out tickets to musicians such as Lydia Jazmine, Mesarch Ssemakula among others.
“Dear FUFA, Priority should be given to Ex- international players and retired coaches, next time you decide to give out free tickets to Namboole, but not artistes who have a stable income, Charity begins at home.”
Okello also gave his opinion on how league matches should be priced
“In my opinion, in order to get bigger numbers of fans in the local premier football league like our neighbors in East Africa, our teams should have a plan- An ordinary ticket should be 7000 shs, VIP 10000 shs and VVIP 12000 shs. It’s sad to have less than 4000 fans attending some of our top matches because tickets are increasingly seen as overpriced.” Stated Okello
Okello joins football lovers across the country who expressed their dissatisfaction towards the ticket prices. Last week, FUFA boss Moses Magogo attacked journalists for opening up on the overpriced tickets.
