SC Villa suffered another miserable away defeat as they were beaten 1-0 by BUL FC on Friday at Njeru Technical Center in Jinja.

Jerome Kirya’s 21st minute goal was enough to give the Eastern Giants victory over the Jogoos who were seeking their first ever double over BUL FC since the 2016/17 season.

It was also a perfect revenge for the home side who lost to SC Villa in the first round meeting at Wankulukuku earlier in the season.

For Villa it was another step backwards after their remarkable win over table leaders Vipers as they were aiming for only their second away win of the season.

Man of the match is Villa’s triumph over Vipers Patrick Jonah Kakande nearly levelled matters for the Jogoos moments after Kirya had given the home side the lead.

Elvis Ngonde also had his effort from free kick hit the woodwork before the halftime breather.

BUL FC stay third with 39 points while Villa missed a chance to move up from eighth on the Uganda Premier league table and remain on 30 points.

Meanwhile, NEC FC stumbled in the title race with a goalless stalemate away to UPDF FC and are now four points adrift of leaders Vipers while URA FC beat Mbarara City 2-0 in the other game played on Friday at Kakyeka Stadium.
