Matia Lule replaces Mugerwa at Police

Uganda Premier league side Police FC have appointed Matia Lule as their new head coach following the departure of Simon Peter Mugerwa.

Mugerwa was relieved of his duties at the Cops just after their 3-1 defeat to relegation threatened Soltilo Bright Stars.

Lule who has previously coached the Cubs (U17) in 2014 and the Uganda Hippos will now take on the mantle at Police FC.

He has previously coached KCCA FC, Express FC, Proline FC, Entebbe FC as well as Tanzanian sides Stand FC, Mbeya City and Singida Big Stars among others.

He was also assistant coach at Tanzania Premier League side Ihefu SC alongside Fred Kajoba (RIP) until the end of the previous season.

Lule was also the assistant coach for the Uganda Cranes during the era of Sebastien Desabre.

Swift Sports Uganda also understands that he is set to work with Steven Billy Kiggundu.

Police FC are currently on 23 points on the Uganda Premier league table and are also in the quarterfinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
