Jackson Magera’s first Uganda Premier League game in charge of KCCA as interim coach ended in a 2-1 defeat to BUL FC at Lugogo.
KCCA recently part ways with Abdallah Mubiru following their 4-0 defeat against Kitara FC.
With Mubiru out and Magera in, this was the chance for the football to do the talking.
What was witnessed is that KCCA FC’s problems have not gone away.
Jerome Kiirya gave the visitors the lead in the 29th minute after goalkeeper Mutwalib Mulogofa’s error.
Early in the second half, Shafik Nana Kwikiriza had a golden opportunity to restore parity for the hosts but his effort kissed the crossbar.
Karim Ndugwa doubled KCCA FC’s advantage in the 84th minute to send the travelling faithfuls into ecstasy.
Second half substitute Ashiraf Mugume pulled one for the home side in added time.
But KCCA were unable to find an equaliser and as a result, Magera suffered defeat in his first Uganda Premier League encounter, while BUL remain unbeaten in the second round.
Abbey Kikomeko’s BUL are now third with 42 points while KCCA are sixth with 36 points.
KCCA FC next travel to URA FC at Nakivubo Stadium while BUL will lock horns with Police FC.
