TURKEY: Juliet Nalukenge guides Antalyaspor to topflight football

Crested Cranes forward Juliet Nalukenge played an integral role as 1207 Antalyaspor gained promotion back to the Turkish Women’s topflight league.

Antalyaspor beat Dudullu Spor Kulübü 2-0 in the Promotion Play-Off final at the Manisa 19 Mayıs Stadium on Sunday.

Nalukenge has an instant impact at Antalyaspor since joining the club from Kayserispor Kulübü a month ago.

Nalukenge scored the all important goal in the extra time as Antalyaspor beat Sakaryaspor Kadin 2-1 in the semi-final on Thursday.

In the final, Nalukenge played 88 minutes before she was replaced by Aysu Ucar as Antalyaspor held in the final moments of the game.

Antalyaspor will play in the Turkish Women’s topflight league since suffering relegation in the 2023/24 season.

Joan Nabirye (Trabzonspor) and Natasha Shirazi (Hitabspor Bornava) are the other Ugandan players playing in the Turkish Women’s topflight league.
