Two time Buganda Masaza Cup champions Ssingo are set to appoint Hamza Lutalo as their next coach, Swift Sports Uganda understands.
Lutalo will replace Simon Peter Mugerwa who was at the helm last year when Ssingo’s journey ended at the quarterfinal stage by Kyaggwe.
In case the deal materializes, the former Kampala Queens coach is expected to work with Ismail Ndawula as his immediate assistant.
Besides Kampala Queens, Lutalo has previously served as head coach at the U-17 national team and Victoria University in the Pepsi University Football League.
At Kampala Queens Lutalo guided the side to its maiden FUFA Women’s Super League title.
Ssingo are two time Buganda Masaza Cup winners following their triumphs over Buddu in the 2015 and 2018 editions respectively.
Since their 2018 victory Ssingo has failed to make it to the final of the prestigious competition. A Semifinal finish during the 2022 edition is their best performance in recent memory.
Meanwhile, record winners Gomba have already confirmed Simon Ddungu alias Dunga as their new coach while reigning champions Buddu will be under the stewardship of Eric Kisuze. Bugerere are expected to name Michael Skills Lukyamuzi as their next coach.
