NEC FC head coach Hussein Mbalangu remains confident that he will turn winger Alpha Thierry Ssali into a Lion.
The winger joined NEC FC in January 2025 from Express FC but has had limited playing time since making the move to Mbalangu coached side.
Mbalangu believes Alpha possesses the X factor to become a fantastic player at NEC FC. However, he emphasises that the winger still has a long journey ahead.
“Yes, I said that I will turn Alpha into a Lion but the lion doesn’t become a Lion when it has just been born. It will take some time and it is a process.
Mbalangu insists there is still much work to be done to elevate his game.
“I agree he is still young and he has the potential but he needs to work hard on the physical part and track back in case we don’t have the ball.” I assure you he will turn into a lion.” Mbalangu told CK Sports
Alpha Ssali has found playing time limited at NEC FC
Mbalangu side currently trail UPL table leaders Vipers SC by five points in the title race following their 3-1 defeat at Kitende last week.
