St Mary’s Secondary School Kitende and St Noa Girls stormed the semifinals of the ongoing CAF Africa Schools Football Championship after their respective victories in their final group stage games on Thursday.
St Mary’s Secondary School kicked off the day with a 4-0 win over Algeria before their 4-1 thrashing of South Africa in their last group stage game.
Kitende needed Henry Muhoozi, Nabir Kajjumba, Ashiraf Kyakuwa and Yasin Nsubuga goals to beat South Africa, a win that sent them into the last four.
The Hassan Zungu coached side finished the group stage with two wins, scored eight goals, conceded three and lost once to hosts Ghana. Kitende will lock horns with Senegal in the Semifinal on Friday.
Meanwhile, Brenda Nassaka, Lydia Namaseruka and Grace Kawiino inspired St Noa to a 3-0 comfortable win over Democratic Republic of Congo in their final group match.
St Noa climaxed their group stage campaign with a perfect record after smiling to three wins, scoring seven and are yet to concede a goal in the competition. They will face Morocco in the Semifinal on Friday.
