Vipers SC captain Milton Karisa has urged his teammates to keep their foot on the accelerator as the six time league champions seek to extend their lead at the top of the standings to eight points.
The Venoms will host Paul Kiwanuka’s UPDF FC under the floodlights of Kitende on Tuesday.
Karisa who made his first start since returning from injury has warned his colleagues over complacency.
“We know very well what’s at stake. We have a five-point lead at the top but that doesn’t mean we should relax. My fellow players know what we have to do until the last game.” We are well prepared and our objective is to get three points. We have to keep going until the last game.” Said Karisa
Vipers needed an Allan Okello sole strike to overcome the army side in their first round meeting in Bombo.
The Kitende based is expected to welcome back left back Derrick Ndahiro who has been on the sidelines for sometime.
Meanwhile, UPDF FC will be targeting their maiden win over Vipers. The army side has lost 11 of last 15 league meetings with the Venoms with four ending in stalemates.
Paul Kiwanuka will be making a return to Kitende where he served as late Fred Kajoba’s assistant and will be desperate for maximum points after his side threw away a 2-0 lead at Express FC in their previous league game.
His side will welcome back Denis Ssekitoleko after serving his suspension against Express due to Yellow card Accumulations.
The army side will be without Bernard Muwanga due to Yellow card Accumulations and injured Edward Kawooya.
