Mbale Heroes officially relegated with four games to play

Mbale Heroes have become the first team to be relegated to the FUFA Big League from this season’s Uganda Premier League.

This follows their 1-0 defeat to Maroons FC at the Mbale City Stadium this evening.

Norman Odipio scored the lone goal in the 27th minute of the game that proved the difference between both sides.

Mbale Heroes’ journey filled with controversies and endless struggles officially comes to an end having garnered only 10 points from the 26 games played.

The Surgeons who earned promotion from the Big League last season, will be embarking on another comeback to the topflight next season.

Mbale Heroes will visit Vipers SC in their subsequent league game on 7th May at Kitende before taking UPDF FC (at home), Soltilo Bright Stars (at Kavumba) and Kitara FC at home.

Victory has elevated Maroons to the 7th place on 37 points from 26 games played.
