Kampala Queens are a step away from winning the 2024/25 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League title.
This follows the club’s comprehensive 3-1 win over Amus College in Bukedea on Friday morning.
Zaina Nandede, Catherine Nagadya and substitute Kamiyat Naigaga scored the three goals for the Asefa Firew Hailegebral coached side.
Nandede grabbed an early lead with a header from Nagadya’s cross in the 5th minute.
Shayline Ikalakala equalized for the home side with her third goal of the campaign in the 15th minute.
Nagadya restored KQ’s lead in the 37th minute from a neat cross by left-back Miriam Nakayiwa.
Naigaga put the game beyond reach with a finish from Shamirah Nalugya’s brilliant through ball in the 89th minute.
The win took Kampala Queens to 47 points, nine above second placed Kawempe Muslim with three games to go.
Kampala Queens, who are the only unbeaten side in the league, will host Kawempe Muslim in their next game on 17th May, in a game they need a point to clinch the championship.
