Vipers SC are the champions of the Uganda Premier League after their 2-0 win over Kitara FC at the Royals Park in Butema, Hoima.
Gusto Mulongo and Yunus Sentamu scored a goal in each half respectively to ensure the Venoms clinch the league title with a game to play.
Coming into the encounter, Vipers needed victory to be confirmed champions irrespective of the SC Villa vs NEC FC game at Wankulukuku.
Mulongo gave the Venoms a deserved lead with a close range finish after Kitara goalkeeper Yawe Farouk fumbled with Allan Okello’s free kick in the 14th minute.

Wasswa Bbosa the Kitara FC coached rested a bunch of his trusted men in respect of their upcoming Stanbic Uganda Cup semi-final return leg against Vipers.
Sentamu killed off the game in the 68th minute with an instinctive finish from Milton Karisa’s header.
Kitara pushed for a consolation and Titus Sematimba came closest with a ferocious strike that hit the post in the final quarter of the encounter.
The victory took Vipers to 68 points, four more than second placed NEC FC who beat SC Villa 1-0 at Wankulukuku.
The title becomes Vipers’ seven having previously won in 2009/10, 2014/15, 2017/18, 2019/20, 2021/22 and 2022/23.
