RS Berkane clinched the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup title after holding Simba SC to a 1-1 draw in the second leg final played at the Amaam Stadium in Zanzibar.
Coming into the second leg, Simba were hoping for a comeback having lost the first leg 2-0 in Morocco.
Their search for an early goal was successful as Zambian forward Joshua Mutale gave them the lead in the 17th minute.
However their pursuit for more goals was dealt huge as they were reduced to 10 men after Yusuph Kagoma was sent off for a second bookable offense.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, Simba kept pushing for a second goal that would eventually tie the scores on aggregate.
Uganda Cranes striker Steven Dese Mukwala thought he has scored the much needed second goal with a header from a well delivered free kick but his goal was cancelled for offside by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in the 74th minute.
RS Berkane eventually killed off the game with an equalizer through Soumalia Sidibe in the third of the nine added minutes and subsequently won the title.
The Moroccan champions have now won the CAF Confederation Cup three times having previously triumphed in 2020 and 2022, and are now joint record champions of the tournament alongside CS Sfaxien of Tunisia.
