Simba SC 1-0 Singida Black Stars
Steven Dese Mukwala scored the all important goal as Simba SC beat Singida Black Stars 1-0 in the Tanzania Premier League game played at the KMC Complex.
Mukwala’s match winning goal came in the 43rd minute of the game after rounding off the onrushing goalkeeper to slot the ball in an empty net.
His goal was his 12th in the league, and keeps him in a touching distance with the league top scorer Jean Ahoua (also of Simba) who has scored 15 goals so far.
The victory took Simba to 72 points, just one behind their rivals and current table leaders Yanga with only three games to the season climax.
Mukwala, who was previously voted as the player of the month for April, was also voted as the man of the match after scoring the lone goal of the game.
Simba are expected to return to action next month after the international break to take on Yanga in what would prove to be the title decider.
