NEC FC chairman Brian Buhanda has revealed that the club is yet to hold discussions regarding the future of their head coach Hussein Mbalangu.

When pressed about Mbalangu’s future on at the club’s end of year dinner on Monday at Silver Springs, Buhanda was
equivocal about the tactician’s time at the club.

“Coach Hussein Mbalangu has a year left on his contract but we haven’t had discussions about his future just yet.” Said Buhanda

NEC FC finished second on the Uganda Premier league table with 67 points, two adrift of champions Vipers SC but an ambitious Buhanda asserts their target was to win the league title in the concluded campaign.

“Truth be told the target was 100% to win the Uganda Premier League but we agonizingly fell short but we shall continue striving in that direction.”

NEC FC will be Uganda’s representatives at the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup following Vipers SC’s double triumph.
