Double winning champions Vipers SC will soon have to decide whether to retain experienced midfielder Paul Patrick Mbowa or allow him to walk for nothing this transfer window.

The next couple of weeks will be key in determining Mbowa’s future whose current employment contract at Vipers expires this month.

Mbowa joined the Venoms at the start of the 2023/24 season on a two year contract from URA FC.

In his first season, he was one of the outstanding performers for the Venoms and also played a vital role in their double triumph in the just concluded season.

Swift Sports Uganda understands that the Vipers are open to renewing Mbowa’s stay at Kitende.

Patrick Mbowa will be out of contract at Vipers this month

He is a former SC Villa and Victoria University (defunct) player and was Mpindi Clan as they reached the 2024 Bika Bya Baganda Football championship losing to Ngabi Nsamba in the final.

Vipers are expected to be busy in the market ahead of the forthcoming season and have already signed Jude Ssemugabi and also remain in negotiations with NEC FC midfielder Enock Ssebaggala.
