Mawokota Ssaza team Patron Dr Lawrence Mulindwa wants Masaza Cup glory with the three time competition winners this year.
During Mawokota’s fundraising dinner that was spearheaded by County Chief Owek Kayima Sarah Nanonno Kaweesi on Friday at Jevine Hotel , Mulindwa promised full support to the team and set sights on the title.
“We were the first team to lift three Masaza Cup titles before Gomba and the likes of Buddu. This year we want to win the title and if we are to succeed, we must be united as a team.” I won’t reveal how much money I will inject in the team but promise to fully support it as we aim for glory.” Said Mulindwa
The fundraising dinner was attended by area Members of Parliament Hillary Kiyaga Innocent and Teddy Nambooze along with LC.5 Chairman Martin Ssejjemba, Vipers SC CEO Simon Peter Njuba, Mawokota team manager Harunah Kyobe and religious leaders.
Mawokota are three time Buganda Masaza Cup winners having previously won the prestigious event in 2005, 2007 and 2013. Under the stewardship of David Katono Mutono, Mawokota will on Sunday, 15th unveil their players for the 2025 season on Sunday, June 15, with a friendly match against Busiro at Buwama Playgrounds. They will begin their quest for glory against Buweekula on Sunday, 29th June.
