Vipers Sports Club are set to enter into a partnership with Women Super League side Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, according to 102.1 FUFA FM.
The Venoms are expected to partner with the most successful female club as their new official Women’s Team in all FUFA and CAF engagements.
It should be noted that this development comes at the time as Vipers’ two-year partnership with Wakiso Hill Women Football Club comes to an end this month.
Rines SS Women Football Club are the other Women Super League side that have been under serious consideration by the Uganda Premier League champions.
It should also be noted that starting with the 2025/26 season, all Uganda Premier League clubs are required to have a Women’s team participating in either the FUFA Women Super League or the FUFA Women Elite League as per the amended Club Licensing Rules.
Additionally, all Women Super League clubs are also required to be attached to an active Men’s Football Club participating in either the Uganda Premier League, FUFA Big League or the Regional League.
Kawempe Muslim have won five Women League titles, more than any other club in the country, and just like Vipers’ feeder side St. Mary’s Kitende, Kawempe Muslim has produced a tremendous number of quality players over the years.
Vipers who won a domestic double last season, will represent Uganda in the 2025/26 CAF Champions League whereas NEC FC will play in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Heading into continental football for the first time, NEC FC who finished second of the league table, will have Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga as their Women’s club, as required by the CAF Men’s Club Licensing Regulations.
