Uganda Premier league giants SC Villa have finally released a statement regarding Serbian coach Nemanja Milincic.

On Friday last week, SC Villa had confirmed the appointment of Milincic as their next coach replacing Morley Byekwaso who was at the helm last term.

Two days later, this website confirmed that SC Villa’s marriage with Milincic had ended prematurely.

The 17-time record Uganda Premier league champions have now revealed that they will not advance contractual negotiations with Nemanja in a statement signed by club President Omar Mandela.

“Now that the dust has settled, Sports Club Villa (“The Club”) informs its fans that its advanced contractual negotiations with Mr. Milincic Nemanja have regrettably been discontinued with immediate effect.
While an agreement in principle had been reached and a working relationship had commenced, a formal contract had not yet been finalized. Unanticipated circumstances that touch the core values of the Club emerged and following careful consideration by both the Club and the prospective Coach, both parties mutually agreed in their best interests not to proceed with a formal coaching engagement at this time.” Reads part of the statement

SC Villa also confirmed that the search for a new head coach continues and thanked Nemanja for interesting himself in taking up the vacant role.

“The Club is very deliberate to ensure that it sets a strong foundation for it to be one of the great Clubs and a leading talent conveyor belt on the Continent. This is a value that cannot be compromised at any cost.
The Club expresses its sincere appreciation to Nemanja for interesting himself in taking up the Head Coach role at the Club. The search for a Head Coach for the next season continues and the Club fans shall be updated in due course.
Please take note that the Club President takes full responsibility for the decision not to continue with contract negotiations with Nemanja.” Reads the Statement

The Jogoos had a disappointing 2024/25 campaign finishing sixth on the table with 45 points, 24 adrift of champions Vipers.
