Double winning champions Vipers SC have named Belgian tactician Ivan Jacky Minnaert as their new head coach.

The Belgian tactician joins the seven time UPL champions from Liberian Premier league champions Fassell Football Club.

Vipers also confirmed that last season’s co-coaches John Ayala Luyinda and Fred Muhumuza will serve as Minnaert’s assistants.

John Ayala Luyinda and Fred Muhumuza etched their names into history when they won a domestic double last season.

They joined the elite class of coaches to have won a double in Ugandan football which has Geoff Hudson (SC Villa), Polly Ouma (SC Villa), Milutin Sredojevic Micho (SC Villa), Jimmy Muguwa (Express FC), Paul Hasule (SC Villa), Mike Hillary Mutebi (KCCA FC) and Alex Isabirye Musongola (Vipers SC).

The Venoms have so far beefed up their squad with the acquisition of midfielder Enock Ssebaggala, Liberian striker Mark Yallah and Nigeria Winger Odili Chukwuma.
