Mathias Muwanga signs new contract at Police FC

Goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga has signed a new two year contract with Uganda Premier League side Police FC, Swift Sports reliably understands.

Muwanga’s initial one year contract with the Cops had expired at the end of last month.

Kenya Premier League side KCB were in advanced talks to sign him but no compromise was reached between both parties.

Muwanga played 13 games for the Cops and kept seven clean sheets last season.

Muwanga is one of the proven shot stoppers in the country having previously featured for Sadolin Paints, URA FC, Express FC, Onduparaka and Rwanda’s Etoile de l’Est.

He was instrumental as Express FC won their 7th Uganda Premier League title during the 2020/21 season.

Muwanga has also won two Golden Gloves, one with Express in 2021 and another in 2016 with the now defunct Sadolin Paints FC.
