Uganda Premier league giants SC Villa have appointed Moses Basena as the Technical director in a development confirmed on Monday, 21st July 2025.
Basena who played for the Jogoos as well as serving as the club returns to the 17th time Ugandan champions in the capacity of technical director.

Basena has previously had coaching stints at Sunrise FC in Rwanda, URA FC, Simba SC, KCCA FC, UPDF FC and Tanzanian side Ihefu SC.
He also worked as Uganda Cranes assistant coach during Milutin Sredojevic Micho’s reign.
As earlier reported by this website, Sam Mujabi Kawalya will be the goalkeeping coach at SC Villa replacing Yusuf Ssenyonjo.
In the other appointments at SC Villa, Dan Mubiru also a former player at the club will work as the team manager while Hakim Ssenkumba has been named as the Youth team coach.
SC Villa are under the stewardship of Serbian tactician Zeljko Kovacevic who replaced Morley Byekwaso after a disappointing 2024/25 campaign.
