Striker Joel Madondo has completed a move to Eswatini Premier League champions Nsingizini Hotspurs FC as a free agent.
Shortly after his unveiling, Madondo scored for Nsingizini Hotspurs in a 1-1 draw with South Africa’s Sekhukhune United in a friendly played today afternoon.
Madondo has previously featured for BUL FC and Busoga United in the Uganda Premier League but also Gaddafi FC in the Big League.
Notably, Madondo had a brief stint with Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca in 2020 before returning and eventually joined Gaddafi FC.
He thereafter played for DTB FC in Tanzania and guided the club to a promotion to the topflight league before changing identity to Singida Black Stars FC.
He has four caps with the Uganda Cranes and played a part as Uganda won the 2019 CECAFA Championship at Lugogo under the stewardship of Johnathan McKinstry.
His new club Nsingizini Hotspurs will represent Eswatini in the CAF Champions League next season having won the league title last season.
Yunus Sibira (Royal Leopards) and Bashir Mutanda (Mbabane Swallows) were the latest Uganda players to feature in the Eswatini Premier League.
