URA FC have parted ways with their captain Enock Walusimbi, Swift Sports reliably understands.
Walusimbi’s employment contract with the club expired last month and efforts of a renewal have emerged futile.
Walusimbi joined the Tax Collectors in 2023 as a free agent following a brief stint in Scotland with Peterhead FC.
He assumed the club’s captain’s armband in October 2023 proceeding Alionzi Nafian who left the club to join Ethiopia’s Mechal SC.
Walusimbi leaves URA FC after playing a total of 50 League games, scoring twice and assisting twice.
As earlier reported, URA FC already signed defender Ronald Otti from Kitara FC and will be expected to serve as Walusimbi’s direct replacement.
Joshua Lubwama, Norman Namanya, Ibrahim Wammanah, Tibiita Laban, Joseph Ssemujju and Moses Aliro have all signed new contracts with the club.
The club has also signed goalkeeper Chrispus Kusiima who is yet to be unveiled and Kabon Living who was unveiled about a fortnight ago.
Walusimbi has previously played for Soltilo Bright and Express FC and notably captained The Red Eagles to their 7th league title in 2021.
