Kitara FC are set to sign former SC Villa goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige, Swift Sports Uganda understands.
Kibirige is currently a free agent following expiration of his employment contract at SC Villa.
He spent five years at SC Villa since joining the club in 2020 from now defunct Tooro United. He has also previously featured for Vipers SC and was also captain of the National Beach soccer team.
At SC Villa, he served as captain following the departure of Asuman Alishe before being replaced by Gift Fred. He won the 2023/24 league title with SC Villa.
Kitara have already signed former SC Villa midfielder Amir Kakomo who joined from NEC FC and Hussein Ssenoga.
The club will be under the stewardship of George William Lutalo and Wasswa Bbosa. They has also renewed Patrick Henry Kaddu’s employment contract.
