FUFA orders replay of BUL Vs SC Villa Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 tie

The FUFA Disciplinary panel has ordered the replay of the Stanbic Uganda Cup of 32 tie between BUL FC and SC Villa.

Villa filed a petition following their disallowed goal in the match that was played on February, 17th 2023 at FUFA Technical centre in Njeru.

BUL FC who are the reigning Stanbic Uganda Cup champions had eliminated Villa at the round of 32 courtesy of a Ronald Otti goal.

Villa had however levelled the tie through Charles Bbaale but the goal was cancelled for offside.

The report from the Referee’s Disciplinary panel however indicated that assistant Referee Muyaga Khalid admitted that it was a wrong decision to rule out Villa goal.

The Federation has however decided that the game will be replayed since Muyaga’s decision to cancel the goal was extraordinary wrong and exceeded reasonable human error

“It’s possible that if the goal was not Canceled in the above circumstances, the results would have been different “.

” This being a knockout tournament , the Cancellation of the goal eliminated the club from the tournament, As a result Such Extraordinary factors necessitate a decision to order for the two clubs to replay the match”.

” The CDP Orders that the Uganda Cup Match between between BUL FC and SC villa be replayed, However each party shall cater for its own costs for preparation of the match.” Stated FUFA.

The new date for the rescheduled game is yet to revealed by the Federation.
