The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) held a closed-door meeting with 13 Uganda Premier League club Presidents at Serena Hotel on Tuesday to address the proposed changes to the league format.
Dr Lawrence Mulindwa (Vipers SC), Brian Buhanda (NEC FC), Omar Mandela (SC Villa), Deo Kasozi (Kitara FC), Timothy Halango were among those present in the meeting.
After the meeting, FUFA President Eng.Moses Magogo revealed that they had agreed on a number of things but failed to reach a consensus on the format.
“We have had a very good meeting, it’s not an easy meeting to have club Presidents in the quantities and persons present. It was just a meeting of minds because people were looking at things from different angles.”
Said Magogo before adding that they may decide not to proceed with the new league format basing on the outcome in their next meeting with the clubs
“We have agreed on a number of things with the club presidents, apart from the new league format.
We will have another meeting on Tuesday to decide whether to continue with it or not.” Noted Magogo.
Last month, FUFA through its Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson confirmed a new league format of three rounds with the fixtures for the first round released last Friday.
