FUFA has told Uganda Premier League clubs that it will transfer the Shs3.4Bn fund to Big League in case they fail to accept the new three round League format.
On Tuesday, FUFA and UPL clubs held a consultative meeting at Kampala Serena Hotel to discuss the way forward over the new reforms.
After the meeting, FUFA President Eng Moses Magogo stated that they had agreed on a number of issues but failed to reach a compromise on the format.
Magogo revealed that they may decide to proceed or drop the new format with the decision pending next week on Tuesday.
However in the latest development, FUFA has released a statement in which clubs have been told that without acceptance of the new league format they will not get the Shs3.5Bn funding with the money instead going to the FUFA Big league for the next three seasons.
The clubs on Tuesday, told FUFA that it should invest the funds into the old UPL format that has existed since 1968.
Last month, FUFA revealed that the Shs3.4Bn will be distributed on Insurance of players, Prize money, Recruitment of more staff at the UPL Secretariat, Media and marketing of UPL, Locker room bonus (for every win in the league) and cash support for clubs.
