Uganda Premier League record champions SC Villa have unveiled former New York Red Bulls striker Frank Ssebufu as their latest signing of this transfer window.

As earlier reported by the website Swift Sports, Ssebufu has put pen to paper on a three year employment contract with the Jogoos.

Ssebufu has been a free agent following his departure at New York Red Bulls in December last year.

When his contract at New York Red Bulls expired the club didn’t exercise the option for extension.

Kenyan giants Gor Mahia were the other side interested in Ssebufu’s signature.

The lanky forward joined the Ibrahim Ssekagya coached team in March 2023 from Uganda Premier League side Wakiso Giants.

During his time at New York Red Bulls II, he played a total of 55 games, scoring a total of 10 goals and provided eight assists in the process.

In the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season, Ssebufu played 26 games, scored one goal and provided four assists.

SC Villa have so far beefed up their squad with the acquisition of Ibrahim Kasinde, goalkeeper David Lukwago and Geoffrey Gagganga among others.
