Uganda’s CAF Confederation Cup representatives NEC FC will host their preliminary round first leg tie against Kenya’s Nairobi United FC at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo.

NEC FC will be playing their maiden CAF Confederation Cup game on Saturday, 20th September, 2025 at Nakivubo.

Earlier this year, Nakivubo received approval from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to host major continental tournaments.

NEC FC opponents Nairobi United are also strangers in the continental competition, in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The aggregate winner between the two sides will face the winner between Sudan’s Al Ahli Madani vs Tunisia’s ES Sportive in the first round.

The return fixture is slated for 27th September, 2025 at Nyayo Stadium with kick off at 1600 hours local time.

NEC earned the CAF Confederation Cup spot following Vipers’ Cup double triumph last season, the Bugolobi based side finished second in the premier league, two points behind the league champions Vipers last season.
