Uganda Cranes have climbed six places in the latest FIFA World rankings released on Thursday, 18th September 2025.
Uganda who previously occupied 88th position during the July rankings is now 82nd in the World.
The development comes after Uganda’s performances in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers where the Cranes registered wins against Mozambique (4-0) and Somalia (2-0).
Uganda also reached the quarterfinal stage of the delayed 2024 African Nations Championship co-hosted in East Africa last month.
Morocco who recently secured a place in next year’s World Cup remains as the number one ranked nation on the continent. The 2022 World Cup semifinalists are ranked 11th globally.
Morocco is followed by Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Tunisia, Cameroon, South Africa and Mali respectively.
Spain is the top ranked nation followed by France, Argentina, England, Portugal, Brazil, Netherlands, Belgium, Croatia and Italy respectively.
