CAF CL: Ssemugabi to debut against Al Hilal Omdurman

Jude Ssemugabi is set to make his debut for his new side Jamus SC in the CAF Champions League first preliminary round against Sudan’s Al Hilal Omdurman on Sunday 21st September.

The Uganda Cranes forward joined the South Sudanese champions on a two year contract from Kitara FC amidst strong interests from Vipers and KCCA FC.

Jamus will be participating in the CAF Champions League for the first time having won the South Sudanese League title last season.

The Juba based club has expressed its ambition of going far on the continental stage through landing marque signings notably Ssemugabi one of the brightest stars from the Uganda Premier League.

The club also signed former Rayon Sports captain Kevin Muhire as well as South Sudan national team left back Rashid Okocha from NEC FC.

Former KCCA and Express defender Hassan Wasswa Dazo also joined the club from fellow South Sudanese side Kator FC.

Jamus SC are under the stewardship of Brazilian tactician Heron Ricardo Ferreira who has previously coached Al Hilal Omdurman and El Merriekh in Sudan, Ismaily SC in Egypt and Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal among others.

The first leg between Jamus and Al Hilal Omdurman will be held in Juba whereas the second leg will be played in Zanzibar on Sunday 28th September.

The aggregate winner of the contest will face the eventual winning team between Somalia’s Mogadishu City and Kenya’s Police FC.
