The Ugandan Rally Crew of Yasin Nasser and Ali Katumba has clinched the 2025 African Rally title in Morogoro, Tanzania on Sunday.

Heading into the event, Yasin and his co-driver Katumba had an 8-point lead over title rival Kenyan Samman Vohra .

Vohra won Saturday’s leg and was on course of an upset on the final day with Yasin finishing in fourth place.

Victory on Sunday would hand the title to Vohra who was taking part in his maiden ARC season.

Double African champion Karen Patel won Sunday’s leg reducing Vohra’s points collection giving Yasin an advantage.

Yasin garnered four more points after finishing fourth on Sunday to clinch the title by a single point.

Overall he finished with 135 points while Vohra managed 134 points to finish second. Tanzanian Ahmed Huwel was third.

This is the first African title to be won by a Ugandan crew in 26 years since the late Charles Muhangi and Stephen Byaruhanga triumphed in 1999.
