NEC FC has confirmed that it will honour its Uganda Premier League fixture against URA FC due this Thursday at Nakivubo Stadium despite their disagreement with the new format.
NEC FC who had their continental adventure ended by Kenya’s Nairobi United FC on away goals will now shift to the league.
“The focus shifts to the mandatory fixture, which we must play despite our disagreement with the new league format, as other engagements continue.” Read the statement on NEC FC official social media platforms
NEC FC along with record Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa and reigning champions Vipers SC were the three sides who rejected the new league reforms.
However, it has not yet been established that SC Villa and Vipers SC who are slated to face KCCA FC and Kitara FC respectively on Saturday in the double header will play the fixtures.
