Uganda Cranes will face off with Botswana on match day nine of Group G of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers on Thursday at Obedi Itani Chilume Stadium 7Pm seeking to keep their dreams alive.
Paul Put’s men can still progress to the expanded showpiece as table leaders in case Algeria Uganda Cranes fail to maximize points in their remaining two games.
The Desert Foxes currently top Group G with 19 points and a win over bottom placed Somalia tonight will see them secure a slot in next year’s global event.
Uganda is second in the group due to goal difference but have 15 points as Mozambique who are third while Guinea is fourth on 11.
Mozambique takes on Guinea locking horns in Maputo, where Mozambique has managed three consecutive wins since their defeat to Algeria in November 2023.

If the Cranes fail to secure a top slot in Group G then they will look to be guaranteed a place in the play-offs.
Uganda is currently 7th amongst the top four runners-up with 15 points and a goal difference of (+5).
Gabon (19 pts), Madagascar (19pts), Burkina Faso (18 pts) and Cameroon (18 pts) in the top four positions having played a game more than Uganda save for Gabon.
The Cranes must win both of their remaining two games to stay in contention for a runners-up slot for a playoff qualifier.
For starters, the best four second-placed finishers across the nine groups will enter African play-offs in November with the overall winner to progressing to intercontinental qualifiers scheduled for March next year.
