The Uganda Premier League secretariat has confirmed that the 2025/26 league campaign will proceed as earlier planned despite the ongoing fans and Vipers SC protests.
While responding to Vipers SC concerns, UPL secretariat confirmed that the league campaign will be proceed despite the ongoing disputes over the new league format.
“The Uganda Premier League remains committed to professionalism, transparency and collective progress. We continue to call upon all member clubs to uphold unity, mutual respect and adherence to the established statues and decisions endorsed by the collective body.”
“The Secretariat assures the football fraternity and all stakeholders that the 2025/26 season will proceed as planned, guided by fairness, integrity and the shared vision of elevating Uganda’s football.” Read the statement.
Last week, Vipers SC has officially confirmed that they will not participate in the newly introduced Uganda Premier League and were determined to use all football avenues for justice.
On Saturday, 4th October 2025 the Venoms were of no-show for the double-header fixture against Kitara FC at Namboole. The fans also expressed their protests by shunning the game between KCCA FC and SC Villa.
