Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC bowed out of the CAF Champions League following their 3-2 aggregate defeat to Zambia’s Power Dynamos.

The Venoms needed to overturn a 2-1 home defeat last Sunday in the return leg at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Friday but the contest ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

In Ndola, Vipers made five changes from the team that started in the previous fixture. With Kevin Daslyva suspended, Rogers Torach was called up to fill his void while Enock Luyima replaced Derrick Ndahiro at left back.

Enock Ssebaggala started ahead of Abdu Karim Watambala while Arafat Usama Kizza and Augusto Mulongo replaced Yunus Sentamu and Milton Karisa respectively.

Kenyan striker gave the hosts the lead in the 68th minute before second half substitute Watambala levelled matters for the Venoms.

Vipers couldn’t stage a comeback as they exited the competition 3-2 on aggregate while Power Dynamos reached the group stages for the first time in history and will await their opponents in November’s draw.
