URA FC earned their first win of the season with a 3-2 win over UPDF FC in an entertaining contest at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo on Thursday night.
Alex Isabirye coached side had managed four draws in their opening four games this season.
They played out to a goalless draw with BUL FC, 1-1 with NEC FC, 1-1 with Express FC and their recent goalless statement with Lugazi FC.
In fact the tax collectors winless run stretches back to their 1-0 defeat to NEC FC on the final day of last season. They had spent 450 minutes without a league win.
To power to victory, URA needed a brace from Moses Aliro Okabo with George Masembe scoring the other.
Andrew Samson Kigozi and Samuel Kayongo Ssekamatte scored for the visitors.
Aliro gave the home side the lead in the 24th minute when he was fed by Joseph Ssemunjju but the lead shortlived two minutes later when Kigozi restored parity for the army side.
Before the half-time breather, Masembe re-established the hosts lead after a long throw from Justin Opiro.
In the second period, the Army side levelled matters through Ssekamatte’s well converted penalty after Opiro had committed a foul in the forbidden area.
URA were also given a penalty in the 76th minute when second half substitute Living Kabon was fouled in the area with Aliro taking responsibility to strike the winner from 12 yards.
URA FC remain unbeaten this term and are now on seven points while UPDF FC are 12th with three points in four games.
