The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has on Wednesday confirmed the sacking of their National Team, (Chipolopolo) head coach Avram Grant.
The development was confirmed by FAZ General Secretary Machacha Shepande.
“The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) wishes to inform its members and stakeholders that it has mutually separated with Chipolopolo coach Avram Grant.” Reads a statement from FAZ.
“The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has agreed to mutually separate with Zambia Senior Men’s National Team coach Avram Grant. The two parties agreed to mutually separate with FAZ wishing Mr. Grant the best of luck in his future endeavors,” Shepande says.
Grant took over helms in December 2022 and helped Zambia qualify for the 2023 and 2025 AFCON editions.

The former Chelsea boss’ departure as Zambia head coach comes barely two months before kickoff of the 2025 AFCON in Morocco where the Chipolopolos are in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Mali and Comoros.
