Algerian giants appoint Micho as new head coach

Former Uganda Cranes coach Milutin Micho Sredojevic has been appointed as the new head coach of Algerian side ES Setif.

According to renowned African Football Journalist Micky Jnr, Micho has signed a one and half year contract with the Algerian giants.

The Serbian tactician returns to the dug out having been a free agent since parting ways with Sudanese giants El Merriekh in the closing stages of the previous season.

Micho comes in to replace Taoufik Rouabah who was the coach of the team until recently.

He is one of the most travelled and tested coaches on the continent currently having previously coached Orlando Pirates, Zamalek, Al Hilal of Sudan, SC Villa in Uganda, St. George and Tanzania’s Young Africans.

He has also coached four national teams; Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia and Libya.

ES Setif (Entente Sportive Sétifienne) are eight time champions of the Algerian Ligue 1 and have also won the Algerian Cup eight times.

ES Setif are two time winners of the CAF Champions League with their most recent triumph coming in the 2014 against Yunus Sentamu’s AS Vita.
