The second edition of the Hamz Cup will climax on Friday, 19th December under the lights of Nakivubo Stadium.

Kafumbe 1 will face off with Arrows in the epic final due this Friday with the winner walking away with Shs50m while Pentagon and Kafumbe 2 will battle for third and fourth position.

Hakim Kasirye, Hamz Cup coordinator revealed that they expect a great finale on Friday.

“We are set for the final due this Friday. This year 40 teams took part in the competition that is fully sponsored by Hajji Hamis Kiggundu. We shall not only reward the best teams but also the team that will bring more fans as well as individual prizes for outstanding players. This tournament has given various youth opportunities to play in the topflight and Big league divisions.”

Last year, the tournament was contested by teams from the blocks of Hamz’s Arcardes across the City with Block G coming out victorious.

The inaugural edition had a prize money for Shs50M while this year teams are battling it out for prize money worthy Shs100m. The winning team clinched Shs20m at that time.

This year’s edition attracted over 40 teams from Markets, Taxi Parks and arcades across the city with the winners taking Shs50m, runners up Shs25m, third placed team Shs15m while the fourth placed team will bag Shs10m.
