Seven time Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have written to the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) calling for the rescheduling of their fixture against Kitara FC.

In a letter to FUFA, Vipers protested against Competition Department failure to pronounce its status on the game that was scheduled for October 4th, 2025.

Vipers were of no-show for the game against Kitara FC that was slated to be played on 4th October 2025 at Mandela National Stadium due to their protest over the new league format that FUFA had introduced before it was suspended.

In the latest development Vipers state,

“Vipers SC is now writing to formally protest the continued failure of the Competitions Committee to pronounce itself on the status of our postponed fixture against Kitara FC that had been scheduled for Saturday 4′ October, 2025. Despite multiple inquiries, the Federation’s silence has moved from a procedural delay to a direct threat to the sporting integrity of the league.”

“The fixture was postponed during the enforcement of Regulations 14.4 – 14.12. By FUFA’s own subsequent action-suspending those very regulations the Federation has admitted that the legal basis under which the league was operating at that time is no longer applicable and no decision can now be taken basing on a non-existent legal regime.

Vipers warn that the delay threatens the integrity of the league.

“It is therefore logically and legally inconsistent for the Federation to suspend the above regulations abandoning the proposed new league format and revert to the old format while simultaneously leaving our fixture in “limbo” as if the dispute that caused the postponement was invalid.”
The inaction and deliberate failure by the league management and federation to respond to our several communications on the above subject matter despite receipt of the same is not only unprofessional but has occasioned sporting prejudice to Vipers Sports club.”

Vipers also demand the rescheduling of their fixture against Kitara FC and want assurance that no forfeiture or walkover status will be entertained. The Venoms have given the Federation 4th January, 2026 as the deadline.
