Allan Okello has bid farewell to Seven time Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC following his move to Tanzania giants Young Africans SC.
Okello has joined Tanzania Giants Young Africans SC from the Kitende based side on a two year employment contract.
“After two and half wonderful years, my time at Vipers SC has come to an end. A heartful thanks to the club President Lawrence Mulindwa, the management, all the coaches, my teammates and of course you the Venoms. Thank you for the experience of being a member of your big family. I have been very happy here and you have made me feel at home.” Read part of Okello’s statement.
Meanwhile, Vipers SC have also confirmed Okello’s departure.
“Vipers Sports Club has officially confirmed the departure of midfield star Allan Okello, bringing the curtain down on a remarkable trophy-laden spell at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, following the completion of his transfer to Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC (Yanga).” Stated Vipers
Okello leaves the Venoms as a domestic double winner, having played a defining role in Vipers’ 2024/25 Uganda Premier League and Stanbic Uganda Cup triumphs one of the most successful seasons in the club’s history.
He was the Uganda Premier League top scorer last season with 19 goals and played a vital role for the Uganda Cranes during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers as well as the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Okello also excelled at the 2024 CHAN tournament that was held in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania last year.He has previously featured for KCCA FC, AC Paradou of Algeria and Vipers SC.
