Uganda Premier League record champions SC Villa will make a long trip to Yumbe to face Calvary FC on Monday.

The Jogoos are seeking to close the gap on league leaders Vipers SC who play Lugazi FC on Tuesday.

The game comes days after Villa’s Uganda Cup round of 32 triumph over BUL FC at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba. The Jogoos needed a penalty shootout win after a two-all draw in normal time.

Villa head coach Zeljko Kovacevic is worried that the long journey might halt his players’ performances.

“It will be a very difficult game, the journey is long but we can’t use that as an excuse but after that game against BUL, you imagine the fatigue.”

Despite the 500Km journey to Yumbe, Kovacevic remains optimistic that his charges will overcome Calvary and close the gap.

“We are to win and try to close the gap because we want to go on top of the table.” Said the Serbian

SC Villa will be without suspended Najib Yiga following card accumulation and left back Simon Ssemayange is a major doubt.

Calvary are in search of their maiden League win and are set to appoint Dudu Bosco as their new head coach.

Meanwhile, KCCA FC will visit Buhimba United Saints at Royals Park in Butema in the other game on Monday.
