Kitara FC temporarily moved to the top of the Uganda Premier League table with a 2-0 win over Entebbe UPPC on Tuesday at the Royals Park, Butema.
This was the second meeting between the two sides in a space of one week, having faced off at the round of 32 stage of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
A fixture that was also won by Kitara 2-0 in Hoima.
Wasswa Bbosa’s charges once again prevailed over Abudalah Mubiru’s side, thanks to goals from Gaddafi Wahab and Living Kabon who scored a goal each in either half.
Before today’s defeat, Entebbe UPPC was on a eight match unbeaten run in the League and had not conceded in a league goal in 720 minutes.
In fact they had not yet lost on the road so far this term.
Wahab broke the deadlock at the hr stroke of halftime heading home after being fed by Patrick Kaddu.
Seven minutes to regulation time, Kabon who returned to the side in this year doubled the Royals advantage heading home a perfect ball from another returnee in Edson Agondeze.
Victory temporarily takes Kitara top of the table on 39 points, one above second placed Vipers who face Lugazi later on at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.k
