Police FC has petitioned FUFA over Lugazi FC’s alleged fielding of an ineligible player during their round of 32 encounter in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Lugazi had prevailed 2-0 over the Cops during their round of 32 meeting at Kira Road Arena last week but Police has petitioned FUFA.
Police claim Lugazi played Umar Kyebatala who struck both goals yet he had previously featured for non-league side Football Classroom against Red Ants in the preliminary round.
Kyebatala formerly at Mbale Heroes was unattached at the time he played for Football Classroom and sealed his move to Lugazi during the just concluded mid-season transfer window.
Lugazi and Police await FUFA judicial decision to determine who plays NEC FC at the round of 16 stage. The round of 16 draw was held on Thursday at FUFA House in Mengo and the ties are as follows;
•SCVilla VS Maroons FC
•NEC VS Lugazi/Police
•KCCA VS Onduparaka
•Happy Boys Kagaba VS Six O’clock
•Kitara VS Bunyaruguru United
•Express FC VS Red Devo FC
•Vipers SC VS Iganga United
•URA FC VS Tapoh
