Nine-time Stanbic Uganda Cup champions SC Villa have progressed to the quarterfinal stage of the competition following their triumph over Maroons FC.
The Jogoos overcame Maroons 1-0 in the round of 16 encounter on Thursday at the FUFA Kadiba Stadium.

Andrew Otim netted the all important goal for SC Villa in the 79th minute to keep their chances of silverware alive.
Villa last won the competition in 2015 when they beat KCCA FC 3-0 at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
They join reigning competition champions Vipers SC, 2024 winners Kitara FC, Happy Boyz Kagaba, joint record winners KCCA FC and NEC FC in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, the round of 16 stage will climax on Friday with a double at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo, involving Express taking on Red Devo and URA playing Tapoh FC.
