Three Uganda Premier clashes as Stanbic Uganda Cup Quarterfinal Draw is conducted

Quarterfinal Fixtures:

  • URA FC vs KCCA FC – Nakivubo
  • NEC FC vs Vipers SC – Lugogo
  • Kitara FC vs Express FC – Hoima
  • Happy Boys vs SC Villa – Kassanda

The quarterfinal stage draw of the 52nd edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup has been held on Thursday at Plascon Headquarters in Industrial Area.

Seven Uganda Premier League sides and one Fourth division side are still in the competition.

Reigning competition champions Vipers SC will head to NEC FC for their quarterfinal. In the Uganda Premier League both sides played out to 1-1 stalemates in both meetings.

NEC FC managed by Kaddu Badru are 2024 competition finalists while Vipers are four time winners of the event.

Nine time champions SC Villa will travel to competition dark horses Happy Boyz Kagaba for their quarterfinal contest.

Villa last won the competition in 2015 when they beat their arch-rivals KCCA FC in the final that was held at Namboole.

Hussein Mbalangu’s URA FC have been paired against joint record competition winners KCCA FC.

The contest will be a repeat of the 2014 Uganda Cup final that saw URA FC win 4-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw at Mbale Municipal Stadium.

The other quarterfinal clash will also be between Uganda Premier League sides Kitara FC and Express FC.

Kitara are 2024 competition winners while Express are joint ten competition record winners.

The quarterfinal ties are scheduled to be played between April 1st to 6th. It should be noted that in case of a draw in normal time penalties will determine the winner.
