Local based players dominate Cranes Squad to Morocco for Friendly Matches

Uganda Cranes team for friendly matches against Tanzania and Madagascar departed on Monday morning to Morocco ahead of the two games.

The team that left the country is dominated by local based players as the country prepares for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.

Young African attacker Allan Okello, best Uganda premier league goalkeeper of the season Hannington Sebwalunyo, Hearts forward Rogers Mato, Vipers SC winger Usama Arafat, SC Villa duo of Geoffrey Lubangakene and Raymond Mangoli Barasa were among player to depart for Morocco.

Uganda will play Tanzania on 5th June 2026 before taking on Madagascar on 8th June 2026.
